The character steals your objects unless you can hit them in time. The game gets faster and faster and continues until all the objects are stolen. In Flingerz, the action starts when an animated character pops up at random on the screen. The gamer must quickly press the 1 to 6 key on the keypad that is nearest to the target. The 1 key is associated with the upper leftmost spot on the screen, the 2 key with the upper middle spot, and so on. If the gamer misses the target, the character steals an object from the player. Once the character steals all the player's objects, the game is lost. Every hit on a character chases it away and scores points for the player.

The object of a Flingerz game is to survive as long as possible. The longer the player survives, the faster the game action accelerates and becomes more complicated as more creatures pop up.
